1949 Cadillac, completely covered with 38,295 pennies! They were affixed one by one using Silicone. They added over 200 pounds to the vehicle's weight. The entire project took 6 weeks. The pennies are American, and include an 1817 "Big Cent", two Error Pennies, and four 1943 Steel pennies; (but who's counting?). And, it won't scratch. Here's hoping that no key dates were used!

Sweet! I now know what to do with my truck when I need to cover up those rust spots!
Best thing I like about this photo is the sign that says "Please touch the car"...
What's the point of doing that to a car if you don't want people to really take a look... awesome!
Although I don't think I would want to be standing on the roof of this car while in a big storm!

Hmm - a "paint" job for less than $400 - not bad! Per the application of dimples to reduce drag on golf balls and application of this idea to cars in the epic Mythbusters episode - this may actually help the mileage - though on a 1949 Cadillac it may not matter much!

that is pretty funny, I agree one of the funniest coin jokes I've heard in a long time! Good one! Does it add value to the blue book price? A minimum of $382.95? Or by copper weight? Lol That's a pretty sharp looking car actually... Too bad it adds so much weight or I'd consider doing it to my car... If the wife let me ... Ever. Or you could have a nasty, 3D paint job with metallic, luster looking paint appearing like the cars covered in all of the Silver dollars series glued on like that.... And then you can drive down the road and watch coin collectors sprint down the road next to you trying to get a look... Put a decal saying "Carson City Silver Bullet" and watch um run!

I guess I work on cars to much. The first things I thought of was how did he put them around the Chrome? How did he put them around the locks and door handles? What is he going to do about tarnishing, corroding, etc? Quote: And, it won't scratch.
Kidding of course. Just why wouldn't those scratch? Now picture that car in a grocery store parking lot. And with those famous ladies that slam their car doors into everyone's cars.

Google images '1949 pennies Cadillac', and you will find quite a few more pictures of it. Hail proof? Perhaps I could think about protecting MY car from potential damage.
