I've never seen this before. It looks like Machine Doubling but only affects the inner portion of the devices. It does not affect the outermost parts (except on the D). Any ideas?

Looks like "Longacre's Doubling" Common on this series. Nice woodgrain look to this one too.

I thought maybe Longacre Doubling as well, but it does not go all the around the device and it actually cuts into the device.
It doesn't cut into the device where the crossbars are at only on the flat portions. You can actually see it curve back into the letters.
I'll try to get a better image of it tonight.

The wood grain look is the reason I purchased this one. It's much prettier in hand.

I suppose it could also be Strike Doubling, as the doubling is shelf like (flat) and all goes the same direction. Longacre's doubling is more all around the letters. I do like the looks of this coin.

The bottom serifs of the TE sure almost look truly doubled. I'll look into my variety records closer later tonight.

not Longacre doubling, that would be on both sides of the letter.
