I'm not sure about the surfaces on this coin...otherwise I would hit this one. 360903012279

Interesting MPD variety. Its difficult to come up with a plausible explanation for how or why three 1's could be punched into the denticles. Flynn's argument that it is caused by an inexperienced apprentice misaligning the date punch just doesn't seem to hold water in this case.

Yeah--I'm with you on that. Here's an overlay from "Longacre's Ledger," which actually puts 4 "1" digits in the denticles. In this case, it's hard to imagine someone accidentally impressing a date, 3 or 4 times, from this position. While I'm certain the coin I linked above is a Snow-4, I'm unsure why the MPD is so mushy--poor focus, late die state, or some heavy whizzing? I think I see evidence of whizzing elsewhere on the coin.

Well, that explains why my order hasn't gone through either! Which one is that--Snow 10? It may just be the picture--the details look sorta weak.

Yeah he's usually pretty quick. I think he had mine emailed in less than 24 hours. I'm sure he'll take care of you soon upon his return.

I agree with S-10. The coin may be worn but all the markers are there. I just don't like the damage on the reverse. Snow had a bunch of nice raw IHC for sale last week. I bought 2 on Fri afternoon. I couldn't believe they arrived today, but the package was too large to put in my mailbox and my postman was too lazy to come to the door. So I guess I have to wait until tomorrow to pick them up.

The gal said he had just left for the Chicago show and that she has no idea how to send me the online edition. She said that she really needs to learn how to do that as this happens a lot.

I didn't look at the reverse on the S-10--yeah, that's a deep gouge. Quote: She said that she really needs to learn how to do that as this happens a lot. I ought to give them some free advice--let a firm like Digital River handle their online fulfillment--much less tinkering required.

The reverse on that coin was cut that way intentionally. I've seen that same thing On many cents. It's unfortunate.
