After stalking a bunch of auctions I finally got my first double strike for $30.


1977-P LMC Two Face

I was trying to get one for under $25 but the two faces made it too cool to pass up on.

Nice coin. It always makes me curious whose pocket stuff like this snuck out in. Lol.

Doubt that one would fit through a sizer. Lol.

I have an offset that's pretty bad out of ovality I wonder about sometimes too.

A wonderful example! Has a nice stretch to the second strike as well.

Coinsniffer, this one probably left the mint through normal channels. Back in the day errors like this escaped all the time in canvas bags due to less effective technology for catching the errors before they left the mint.

They put them in the canvas bag until 2000. Then they started with the bin pallets shipped to the distribution location to be put into rolls. If they would not fit into a roll, they should be returned.
