Hi Everyone - This penny is pretty worn but I think it is a DDO. Maybe coppercoin 1DO-005 or Variety Vista DDO-009, DDR-002. This will be my first DDO if you think I'm correct. Please ignore the piece of lint on the obverse. Tell me what you think. Thanks much, Deborah

I can't tell about the reverse as the left dot is missing. The E Pluribus looks double to me but not as much as some. Is that possible?

I am pretty sure that the reverse is not a DDR. As far as it being a DDO, my first guess is that 70 years of circulation has smashed and widened the devices making them appear thicker, however with that being said, the "19" in the date looks interesting. I am sure the experts will chime in soon and give you a better idea as to what you have. Good Luck!

I added more pictures for a better look, maybe this will help. I really really want to find a DDO! I know the 4 looks smashed and there is something going on with LIBERTY, but the damage doesn't run around the coin. I have no idea but I really really want to find a DDO in all these pennies!

While there is circulation damage on this one. When you look at the class 6 doubled dies for this year, you notice that the devices are thicker on the 9, but note on the last 4 in the date: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mdshttp://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=ldshttp://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mdsThe last 4 is wider than the first one on the class 6 doubled dies. I don't see that on your coin, but note the area near the cross bar and the verticle? Your coin shows reduction in that area, which is a evidence of hub doubling. Which one? I'm note sure. The damage keeps it from probably being listed if this is a new die. You best bet is to match it with ones already listed. So I would keep this one. Let me get back to you on which markers are know for this year to see if any match up?

Looks like the CONECA 1944 DDO-002 and coppercoins 1944P-1DO-005. There is a die flow on the first 4 in the date toward the rim in a SE direction. There is also a die crack on the bust above the BDV area in the VLDS die state. Also the die chip on the "E" on ONE. Two markers that make me think it is this die. Nice find.

Yes! My first DDO! I'm getting better at this. But what does this mean Coop "but note the area near the cross bar and the verticle?" Where am I looking? I don't know all the terms. Thank you for all your help.

You are so good at this! Years of practice I suppose! Thanks for the lessons! I'm going to post another one that I think is correct. Let me know. Deb
