I dont think it is worth anything more then a cent but it is interesting none the less..

Found this going through a 10lb bag of ugly 40-50's circulated D mint wheat's.

It has massive MD on date and wear around motto and liberty?

It is nice in own way lol... I know every hates MD but I am going collect the extreme ones but them in a md 2x2 album should make for a funny piece once its full of worthless oddities. I think of it kind of like the people that collect sport stuff for there favorite team that never wins.

I save extreme ones in to a tube. I figure why waste 5 cents to save something worth one cent? I save sveral different items for educational images incase someone has a question on a coin, I can find one easily. The items I save in tubes are (each tube is marked):
1. Feeder Finger Damage
2. Lathe Lines
3. Extreme Die Wear
4. Extreme die cracks
5. Heavy Die Clashes
6. Rim Issues
7. Extreme Markers
8. Extreme Die Scratches
9. Extreme Machine Doubling
10 Extreme Die Gouges

Coop, you do have a very valid point saving them into a tubes is a way more economical way to go. Also those 10 categories to separate tehm pretty much covers it all I will add a 11th for extremely funny PMD's. Makes perfect cents, why waste extra cents that could be used to get extra cents...

It is Mechanical Doubling or offset hub doubling the 1909 vdb is also hub doubling and not really a true double die bt I would wait for a expert to chime in. I own the 1909 vdb DDO #2 which is different. This is where an expert will be alot more useful then my input.

I do have the 1909 vdb DDO coin you referenced to in that link, this is my 1909 vdb DDO #2 which is a double die (any chance to show it I will)

A second 1909 V.D.B. doubled die
obverse exists (FS-012.1), but it
exhibits only extra thickness in the
letters.
