I've seen actual PCGS photos and heard they offer the service. The pictures aren't half bad either.

I'm thinking about sending my PCGS Lincoln Penny, for two services at once.

First, I'm going send in for the "regrade" service to try to get a higher grade. It might be a long shot, but worth it IMO.

Then I want to use their photo service. Does anyone know the details on this, like how much it costs and if they provide a hard photo and electronic?

Quoted from the PCGS web site:

The following fees for the PCGS TrueViewSM Photo Service are based on the service level and whether or not the coin has been previously graded and encapsulated by PCGS. Fees for the new photo service include both certification and photography.

Raw coins may be submitted under the following service/fee levels: Regular Grading & Photo Service ($35); Express Grading & Photo Service ($55); and Walk-through Grading & Photo Service ($125).

Coins already in PCGS holders can be photographed and re-holdered for $8 per coin (or $25 for coins valued over $20,000 or those graded either PCGS MS 70 or PR 70).

For additional information about the PCGS TrueViewSM Photo Service, contact Professional Coin Grading Service at P.O. Box 9458, Newport Beach, CA 92658. Phone: (800) 447-8848 or (949) 833-0600. E-mail: info@pcgs.com or click here for Photo fees and services.

On the submission form check the box labeled OTHER and write TRUEVIEW on the line. Then write $5 on the line next to the $. Just add $5 to your total invoice. They will email you 3 photo sizes of digital photos which you can take to any photo shop to produce a hard copy. You will receive an email after your coin is graded or body bagged like the following:

Dear TrueView Customer,

Your PCGS TrueView Photographs are now available for downloading. These images are available in three separate sizes for your convenience. You may use these pictures for your registry sets, online auctions, and even use them to make quality prints of your coins (however, please note that PCGS retains all copyrights).

You may download your photos at the following locations:

Hi Trooper,
I bought an 1878-CC dime in a scratchy PCGS slab and I sent it in for the $5 reholder service. For an extra $5 they took a photo. At the time, they only provided one photo for the money; if they give 3 now it sounds like an even better deal. I had to resize the photo to make it post (original size was 464KB), but it still looks nicer than what I can do myself.
