Very nice looking coin. Probably low AU. Again, better pics would help.

This appears to be an 1837 Large Date.
Maybe it would go for $220 in XF, $400 in AU

I agree surfaces don't quite look original. You have a $400-$500 coin if it has not been cleaned. Still a very nice looking Half Dime.

Grade appears to be AU-53 or 55. I'm not sure if it was cleaned or not, likely dipped but perhaps still "problem free" in the eyes of the third party grading companies.

Welcome to Coin Community, Jschwartz. Your images are rather too small for accurate grading, but it's no worse than XF. The light brown toning around the periphery tends to indicate a coin recovering from a previous cleaning; that's why you're hearing such opinions. Even as a cleaned coin, though, it's still a rather pricey bit of silver whose value probably approaches $150 or better depending on the degree of remaining detail.
