They asked me if it was valuable, and I think it's not worth more than face value.
I don't really know anything about paper money, so I'm probably making a lot of mistakes.
I've promised to return this to them so there will be no abuse to the note involved by me.

The scan is hiding folds. A big fold down the centre, slight folds on the left corners, less slight folds on the right corners, and some you'll-miss-if-you-don't-pay-attention creases on the upper left and on the big fold down the middle.

They said it was crisp when they first told me. And here it is, quite firm but not that "crisp" with all the folds.
Just saying, this is the first time I've seen a $2 note myself, but Indonesian money is paper and I've handled new bills before.

What grade does this have? I think it's VF at best.

I have some questions:
-Where is the year of emission mentioned in the bill?
-What is the small number 68 on the right of the big number 2?
-coinsandcanada mentioned 2 types of B in the serial number, large and small. Which one is this and how do I tell them apart? Here's a closeup of the numbers.

Thanks.

Yeah, I thought so.
They'll be keeping it though. They're optimistic that this might be valuable someday.

They go for more than $2 on ebay. Around $4-5, plus shipping is cheapest (just took a quick glance). Since they're no longer made, they're worth slightly more than face. That's just how things are. They're just not worth all that much more, just yet. Give it 50 years.

This is a 1986 $2 bill... says so on the front...
The small 68 on the right of the big 2 is front plate number.
You have small B's on both sides of the serial number..

Grade F+ - VF... value $2.. I can still pick up bundles of these $2 notes for face... so I don't think these will really be worth a whole lot... spend that $2 to get an UNC $2 I say!

The other day my friend had a 1991 $20 bill, its funny how some people don't even know they have a date on them.

Most dealers will give these away in change.

Most people I know don't really pay too much attention to their change either. Correct face value, correct colour and feel, so this money is okay! Not good if they got something out of the ordinary I say.
My first silver was in a friend's change last February. And he said, "You can take a look, but I don't think there's anything special in there." It was really white compared to the rest and it literally stood out. And that was my first time seeing silver too.

Thanks for all the answers everyone. I felt kind of stupid when they asked me about a bill. I'll have answers now
Interesting thing is that they said they found this behind some things while helping to clean out a common room that hasn't been used for years. I wonder if someone wanted to make some time capsule or something?

Is it the same with bills with coins, that there is more interest for first year or last year mints?

I don't think I'll be going to dealers though. I went once to buy 2x2s and I saw the price tag on everything is so expensive I don't have that much to spend
