I have been trying to log into HA Sunday auction for the past few hours without success. Is it just me or others having the same problem.

It's funny, but I 'think' I know what you mean. Their software is awesome....the best in the business, but I'll agree their log in is a bit odd. I set-up my log in through my paypal account. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries. Not really sure what you are talking about though. Can you elaborate?

I didn't have any problems Sat or Sun. Nabbed 5 coins at excellent bargains.

Saw lots of nice ones go way below wholesale. Wish there was an auction like that - with so many duplicates some are bound to slip through at bargains - every week!

Made me wish I had been much more patient on a number of coins I've bought over the past 4 years - could have had similar ones at 75%-90% of what I paid.

Guess it was just on my account for it was fixed today. I'm happy that others got a good deal.

I usually login to Heritage through my PayPal login which was always fairly easy but Sunday was a real pain. Kept coming back to the previous screen. Went on for half an hour or more then it finally stopped and the site worked properly.

Finally got my '21 Merc on Sunday off Heritage, a nice PCGS VF20. Probably overpaid slightly but when you really want that coin sometimes the price doesn't mean so much.

Just my thoughts

edgman,
The price is not so important? No, especially when the coin stands
heads above coins in the same grade.
There is the absolute grade and the eye appeal/wow factor at play.
That you like it is great. Now, when you get the coin in you hands and you say to yourself:
"Oh, I'm SO happy I bought this!", then you will like the coin forever.
A gamble, a crap shoot. But no guts, no glory.
I hope that you remain pleased with it.
It is part of collecting coins.

Oh, and logging in to HA.com has caused me problems too.
I like them for research, but I have never bought a coin from them.
Doubt that I ever will.

Sales tax charged to New York State residents is a pain. Am looking forward to moving to Florida in a couple of years so I might be able to actually buy a coin from them .......yeah I know, the internet has gotten me spoiled about paying sales tax.

I do have one thing bad to say about Heritage and that was the 8.50 shipping charge totaled on top of the high buyers premium. Rather high for one slabbed coin. I personally sell slabbed coins once in a while and sometimes with insurance which even then the total runs me less than 5.00. Also Heritage shipping takes 7 to 14 days which seems quite long but then I got the coin I really wanted so I'm still happy.

Just my thoughts

Have you seen the buyers premiums and shipping charges for most of the AuctionZip sites? Holy Moly. Those $$ can run really high. Heritage is on low side in comparison to most.

I agree with edgman. The 17.5% is high enough. Do they have to then GOUGE some more on the shipping that takes quite a while to boot? If they turned it around in a couple days then maybe they could justify such large shipping costs - but it seems to always be 10-14 days which IMO is exhorbitant. I know they have a lot of orders to ship after a big weekend auction, but then don't charge such high fees for it!

Sorry you missed out johntookit, I was not trying to rub it in ( hope you didn't take it that way ) just thought this auction was particularly full of bargains compared to most of theirs. Coins seemed to either go well below wholesale, or created bidding frenzies. I love it when there are 5-6 at the grade you want and the one mediocre-looking CAC one gets bid through the roof but the one you like more stays reasonable in the mix of so many.

Heritage is like any other coin venue, it can be great at times and worthless/frustrating at other times when a nice coin gets bid to the stratosphere.

Good Luck To ALL

I feel the same about Heritage as you members. Most times items I bid on are usually way overbid and I wind up with nothing. This time was different. I still had $30 left on my max bid. Very unusual for that to happen. Anyway I would very rarely use Heritage due to the high buyers premium and now this 8.40 shipping charge. It is way to much, but every once in awhile you do get lucky.

Just my thoughts
