Looks like S2 based on the description. Anyone concur?

I see the RPD and MPD. I suspect you'll need to zoom out and show the whole date and relative position to the bust point for confirmation of the variety.

Thanks! Was thinking of getting Rick's PDF attribution guides. Do you use these or the old-fashioned kind?

I'm shooting a hand-held point and shoot through the eyepiece of a stereo microscope with a ringlight. Convert to grayscale so that I can crank up the contrast and still have the result viewable. Grayscale images work great for pointing out varieties, because color often gets in the way. I'm used to doing this with silver dollars (probably 20,000+ such photos under my belt). Indian cents are a bit of a challenge in that they're darker, making the exposure longer and contrast lower.

Messydesk is quite the coin photographer. I've read a bit about him and seen some amazing photos. Google him.

Oo! I'm Googlable! First thing "messydesk coin" shows is my prime number showcase set in the PCGS registry. There's other stuff, too, mostly me on the first page of search results.
