There seems to be some change in the surface at the spot where a mint mark would be. Not unusual to find the mint mark erased on the more common yank threepences to make the more expensive no mintmark Melbourne coin.

Thanks for the grades. I'm not sure I see a surface change where a "D" or "S" could be. But I'll take a closer look.
