also there is a small reeding mark across from ms. liberty's nose which is the reeded edge of one coin hitting it after coming off of the medal press, also there is a small copper toning streak from an improper alloy mixture in approximately the same place as these coins were 10% copper the balance gold hence 21.6 karats

and killer orange peel ........................ which is the norm rather than the exception on these extremely low mintage proof gold coins

knock yourselves out

Whoa! Great coin; wish I had one in my collection!
I'm surprised a gold proof has collected much toning. The photo looks a bit dark; is the coin brighter in person?
It has strong cameo contrast on both sides. The tick on the nose and obverse copper spots should limit it to a 65 grade at best. I'd guess the grade at a minimum of PR64 CAM. Might be as high as PR65 DCAM!
Again, just a beautiful coin.

you are an astute collector I can see my friend

the toning is even thicker in hand sight seen but since it is an extremely rare never touched or dipped proof gold coin which you hardly ever see anymore

from the ten percent copper alloy

i will let you know in a few days which investor pricing service (graded it) and of course their printed opinion on their holder

thanks guys!

jaobler you are really smart intutitive collector

the coin is darker in person due to the alloy mixture wonderful coloration and rare as most all have been stripped and dipped

of the 10% copper and also it is really a gem coin the reverse is superb gem and the coin is deep cameo killer but it is in an proof 64 cameo pcgs holder

the c oin is deeply toned but deep cameo but the strippers and dippers or as they call in conservatikon experts woujld dsip it for the deep cameo designation

such is the coin game industry

even with the original copper speck and this reed mark I cant see whyt it would not be graded proof 65 as without the toning dot the coin would easily be proof 66 the reverse is a solid proof 66+++ if not 67 but the obverse caqrries the coin and with the proof 64 going to proof 65 this more than duobles the value of the coin so pcgs erred on the side of caution

cant blame them but they like dipped white blast white coins and they dislike take off for deeply toned coins and this is not good or bad just the wya they grade and it is all highly subjective

show ten top experts in as such coins and you will definately get a point spread difference

which is okie as since I like coins that are worth more out of their respective holders this is good as the plastic around the coin is basically worthless if not hurting the coin

better this than a coin that the plastic around it makes up the majority of the demand hence value

well I am off to bed sleepy time for me

possibly a delicious milkshake to put me to sleep
