I'm sure they aren't worth anything but funny that they made it into regular circulation.

The one on the right looks like a silver proof.

I think the majority of these find their way to circ. via theft. I've found all but a half.

I like 'em. At least they don't have the colorized holographic decal on them.

A lot of them find their way into circulation when the person who bought them finds out they aren't worth anything. They either spend them or if the have sold their "collection" to a dealer he figures them at face value and throws them in the til, spends them in coke machines, or if he has a lot even deposits them at the bank. The Sec of one of our local coin clubs need change for his business, when to the bank and got three solid rolls of gold plated State Quarters.

Wow! It would be pretty funny to find a whole role of them! I'd probably keep that just for fun.

It's surprising what finds its way into circulation. Rather than fiddle around with low value stuff my local dealer throws stuff into his register till and gives it out change.

A few years ago a guy came into my guitar store with a pocket full of these gold plated coins. He just wanted to buy a set of strings and hey worked for a company that plated them. I bought them all off of him and used them exclusively for the soda machine. I bet the soda guy was a little surprised to see 20 or so gold coins haha
