I can't believe I just exchanged $34 for this! And the oldest... Unfortunately I think why these were turned in to the bank is because they won't fetch more than face. Some are folded and creased, got stains, pen writing, had gotten wet and dried so it looks crinkly, has rounded edges and little tears. Quite unfortunate since they are mostly still quite firm (obviously not the '67 one - that one is totally limp). I will post some of which I think are the better ones in the grading forum tonight

Always fun picking up stuff like this. Most branches will have them in the "mutilated" pile getting ready to go back for destruction. I like picking them up, looking for interesting bills and then spending them again. :)

It's an awesome pick up! I've never even seen these denominations in bills before in my life except for one $2 last week Two of the $1 bills are in better condition compared to the rest. But one looks like it was stored in a too humid place and a termite was starting to get to it on one corner None of the $2 are in a flattering condition. But it's $2 each nevertheless, I could use them to get something when I found nicer $2s to replace them with. Just wondering, the 1967 $1 is really flat, barely any intaglio print or embossing. If someone had a really good colour copier then might it pass off as an authentic bill?

Judging for the pics, they look preety well conserved specially if you pay just face value.

I certainly didn't expect to get that many and in that kind of condition from the bank, to be honest. Some of the 1973 $1 bills are very nice for face, but I doubt the $2s could fetch more than face. I will post the 2 nicest $1s (these two have barely any creases, unlike the others which have quite some) and the best $2 in the grading forum.
To be honest, the 1967 was a surprising find! Face value in that condition I guess, it's quite dirty with a pen mark and the folds have began to tear the bottom part of the note.

People DO try to copy these note... The hardest thing is to get that right paper feel... It's also the reason why they change notes so frequently.
Really nice pick up!!

Now I know why they keep making new design notes. I remember when I was really young an uncle if mine copied one side of bills for me and my siblings to use as play money, and I still remember, they definitely do not have the money feel to them!
Honestly I'm not sure if the $2s are much good, it looks like someone's spilled a lot of water all over them and just left them to dry.

Give them to kids, get them to start up a collection.

Spread my good luck around, great idea! I don't know any kids though. I'll just give them to my school friends as I'm graduating this semester.

They might just try to spend them, but who knows. Students and artists are the poorest people I know.

Just came back from a coin shop to ask of what they think I could get for the bills. The green $1 only face because someone wrote on it. The others maybe $2 or 3 each.
I was thinking of penciling in a monogram on the $2 so they won't spend it, but now it seems like a bad idea.
