Is there anything to this nickel? One side looks come rely different front the other? Missing something? Or just exposure to one side? But the reverse has a spot in the middle that looks just like the obverse-opinions? Thanks

"But the reverse has a spot in the middle that looks just like the obverse-"

What you are describing sounds like a die-clash, but I dont see it. Maybe others will.

This any better? I was originally referring to the whole obverse looking like it wasn't plated? The dullness that is the obverse has an exact type spot in the middle of the shiny sided reverse? Maybe was acid or something?

It looks like environmental damage to me.

Don't believe nickels are plated just affecting the exposed surface. Maybe some reaction to environmental exposure. Just what exactly I could not say. Best guess or two, Maybe sat on a window ledge by the ocean for a while or in a chemist lab.
