Yes that's a BIE and a nice one at that. Somewhat common on the LWC and early LMC.There is even a book on them.The newer LMC are a little more collectable with a BIE.

Newer ones are also made out of zinc and potentially can rot. My money is on copper.


IN 1955D and 1955S watch out for clogged letters that also have an RPM as well.

Here is a pic of one of my latest BIE finds. A monster of a BIE.
