Found this one at the bottom of my coin box! Strange one, my immediate thought was Christ on one side (hence Byzantine?). Any help on this one would be great!
Yup, wildwinds is my first point of contact for identification. I'm unfamiliar with this type of coin (I'm new to ancients and only really know a little bit about Roman (empire/republic) and a bit on Greek). Posting up on CCF is my final hope!
It does not look ancient to me. If you turn the bottom pic around 180 degrees, you'll see a view of a harbour with ships at anchor offshore; the ships look modern (16th-19th century) to me.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
