Hello
I have an uncle who has a fairly sizable amount of old paper money and is wanting to sell. He has 200 $100's, 26 $50's, 100 $20's, 23 $10's, and 45 $5's. He has groups of 10 consecutive hundreds that are uncirculated. I think they are 1990. The oldest 100's are 1950. I know nothing about this kind of thing and he is not computer savvy and never will be so I thought I would try here. He would like to sell all at once if possible. Is there a fair place to do so?
Thanks

Are there any star notes in these groups? An example would be F40126312*

Any fancy serial numbers?

Hopefully those more versed in values can provide that info.

I recommend that you study carefully and throughly about those notes before you sell them. Don't take them to a dealer or a Local Coin Shop (LCS) unless you know what they are worth. Some dealers will tend to offer low-ball prices for the notes, and unless you know exactly whay they are and what they're worth, what's their condition, etc., you can get ripped off big-time.
Spend time studying the notes. Sort them by denomination, series, type and so on. Sort the more expensive ones from the less valuable ones. Learn how to "grade" the notes, as condition means everything in the collecting world.
You can start selling here in CCF once you have 250 "quality" posts and 90 days here in CCF.
When you sell them, I recommend that you sell the less-expensive ones of the same type in the form of a lot, like a lot of 10, 20, 30 bills. For the more expensive ones, sell them individually. That way, you'd be getting the most profit.
Maybe, just maybe, you will catch "the collecting bug" as you research the bills!

L02031270* Series 1990 had 3,200,000 notes printed so there won't be much of a premium.

I couldn't find the other star note listed. What series is it from?

Here's a site that explains fancy serial numbers http://coolserialnumbers.com/FancyS...Numbers.aspx

Another site that has a few examples of fancy serial numbers http://oldcurrencyvalues.com/serial_numbers.html
