Won this on ebay and just received it but having doubts about authenticity. It weigh 27.48g and non magnetic. However it doesn't have silver ring to it and my magnet slides off of it quicker than other coins. Also I cant find it in Krause, what do you think ?

I am suspicious too. The obverse seems off, the marks seem deliberate as if to hide something, and the ending price is very low compared to what this is worth, so maybe someone knew something that you or I don't. Best to see what others say.

My one concern on this piece is how well rounded it is for it's age, and not sure if they used collars back then.
My oldest crown sized silver coin is dated 1672 and nowhere near this round.

If it were my coin, I would send it to ANACS for about $20.00 to certify if genuine or a fake (I've been burned in the past with fake coins).

I don't know these early thalers that well but my reaction was exactly the same; it just seems too round. They didn't use collars at that time and the blanks were often unevenly shaped ( when compared to more modern coins)
