I found what seems to be a 1914 Denver mint Wheat cent while coin roll hunting. It was in the last roll and the last coin that I looked at! The date is really faded and would like some opinions to see if the coin is a 1914 D. If you could help grade it too that would be awesome. The coin is in pretty rough shape though.

yes, that's a Poor to About Good, at best. As for the date its a tough call. you might be able to place a piece of paper over the coin and with a #2 pencil LIGHTLY, and I mean lightly hold the pencil at a 75+ degree angle at color the paper lightly and see if a date shows. Or, put it on a Xerox copier at 300 percent and normal settings for darkness and see if it shows a date.

many other tricks can be done, just takes a bit of creativity. Being that this coin is near a cull, effort to find out the actual year may be futile.

Well, I just tried a dozen different things digitally but I don't have Photoshop here at work. I can't see anything. Sorry. Can you re-take the pic with some different lighting angles? Maybe get the light low enough to only rake the high points of the date? Then, you may be able to isolate it better in Photoshop? Is there any remnant of a V.D.B. on the bust? That may help narrow the date range a bit.

I'd say that the reverse on it's own would definitely be a AG-3, but due to the condition of the obverse I would sat FR-2. Awesome circulation find though.
