Does anyone happen to know what the current market price is for the 1864 1st edition of Heath's Counterfeit Detector? Also, how often do they come on the market? Are there any major collectors/dealers who specialize in these?

I found that there is a free version of this book online, I know it's not what you're after but maybe this will suffice until you're able to find a physical copy. https://archive.org/details/heathsi...lible00heat1

Here's one on Abe Books http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Boo...amp%3Bbsi=30 I don't know if this is priced way high or what these are going for.

You might check Heritage Auctions, Charles Davis Books or Kolbe & Fanning Numismatic Booksellers.

Wow MV, thanks for that digital copy link! I've never seen that site before, so I think I'm going to explore it further to see what else might be there. The prices on Abe look about right for books of that time period. The others don't have a copy at the moment.

You might want to try David Sklow Numismatic Book Auctions, Fred Lake, and Kolbe & Fanning Auctions for past auction sales - I'm sure one or two copies have sold through their auctions, just can't remember which off hand. Most of the past sales and PRL's are listed on their sites (Google will get you there if you don't know them already).

Where do you find the K&F past auctions and prl's? I've looked on their site but haven't seen them.

You are right the K&F site doesn't have the past sales or PRLs, my apologies. I suppose the only source there is to acquire old auction catalogues. I do know the other sites have them. I have downloaded every one of them for off line use.
