This 40 year coin popped in a pile of 70's and it's in very fine condition. Closer review showed an second ear lobe, but there is no ear lobe variety on coppercoins.com.

There is no damage on this coin

I compared it two other fine coin and this lobe is definitely unique. Maybe some keenly placed gas bubble?

Looks like a hit in the ear area of the ear to me..seen this sort of appearance on many lincoln cents

It is flat shelf like and is machine doubling/coin contact. Not a doubled ear.
