From the pic, yes, as best I can tell its a filled "D". I cannot tell from the pic quality to see if it had an additional punching.

I will try get a better pic thanks-now I know if it's re punched obviously it's an error but what if it's not? If it's just a filled MM are these considered errors or just that piece of die broke off?

Most mint marks are punched into the die, meaning they are incused or hammered into the design. That way, when the die hits the planchet, the mint mark is elevated.
The mint mark area itself could have been clogged.

If the mint mark was clogged with grease, there would be no mint mark. But in this case the post to form the center of the mint mark has broken off and now the die will show no indent in the center of the mint mark. So the post has broken off.

I see it as a typical mint mark that picks up a bunch of metal shavings and continues to show a deformed "D". The entire "D" is affected, more of a mound than just a clogged center. The only thing that looks semi normal is the left side of the "D". In any event, its not worth much over face value.

Yea ok may just keep anyway I learned more again either way-and yea coop that's what I was picturing in my mind was the small center post of the D broken off so now the MM is just an empty hole so all we get is a raised mound of metal instead and no letter D

Slamnbass: You got it. If the post breaks off below the devices. the void will cause the metal to rise above the devices:
