That is a nice one. I'm not familiar with these coins so I have ask..near the top left of the 1 about a quarter inch down, is that another? I ask because it looks a little deformed there or is that normal.

Yes, there is also a Cud on the 1. Here in Oz we call it a boxing roo.

Matteproof..I've noticed in the USA that is the rule but not necessarily here in Canada, it seems to differ. I've heard chips refered to as Cuds here as well. Oh well either way its a piece missing from the die.

Correct.
The true definition of a Cud specifies that the rim be involved.
What is shown is most likely a die chip.

Die chips--or Cuds. The Aussies normally call these cuds here on CCF--so I'll use their term on their coins
