Very nice item, thanks, guys for sharing info and pictures.

I am curious, could it be that not a real 50 cent pieces were embedded, but 2 plated rounds, one without revers and the second without obverse? (this way, with the polished surface they will stick better to the watch).

Is it worth more than $100? I find it odd that when you Google it, there is no info.

Sears thinks they are worth $80. What it's worth depends on who you are asking. I'm sure some people would pay $100, some might give you $20 but the retail price was $80. Liverpool returned two at that price just 2 months ago.

These clocks have been around for at least 15 years. They don't seem to be very popular except for the 2000P and only because collectors tear them apart to get the rare coin inside.

For what it's worth, Canadian Coins and Currency sold out of their 1999 version at $100.

Have to admit I would pay $100 for this one just to carry around in my pocket.

A bit of a tangent from your original 2003 question.

This appears to be the company that distributes the various RCM clocks, watches and jewelry. If you click on the RCM collection, you can see lots of varieties and prices. Some are really cool - I like the 50 cent whales watches.

Further, it you selected 'Authorized dealers' you can see where to find these in each province.

It looks like a nice, I wouldn't mind owning that pocket watch.
