Yes it is doubled but it is Machine Doubling. Notice it is flat and it is lower than the rest of Lincolns face. The die moved during striking.

I thank you for your opinion but respectively disagree. If you take a look at existing die 1958d that is probably certified it looks exactly like mine just mine is thicker and better coin. thanks. My opinion this one id a DDO. Thanks again.

I agree that it is MD, form your own opinion, but I see nothing that could possibly make this a DDO. The Machine Doubling can be very "thick" in area covered, but the doubling is shelf-like in nature, very flat. So I agree with Jayman. It's just another Wheat cent in my eyes.

There is a lot of collective years that offer opinions on this forum, and if the opinions don't seem to be what you want to hear, then again, I say, pack the coin up, send it in to a Third Party Grading service and see what the label says. Either you will be extremely rich or broke. I pretty much know the answer to that.

I see hundreds, if not thousands of that type of coin, and its device Machine Doubling.
Wait until you see the same effect on most if not all of the reverse, and yes, in most cases (95%) it's Machine Doubling.

When you see this on the outside edge of the bust, it is almost always Machine Doubling. It is Machine Doubling.
