Hi, I saw that the shopping channel has a 20% off sale going on that I used to get a gold bald eagle coin, unfortunately it was too late to cancel from the mint or I would have gotten the RMS $20 coin which comes with a bonus booklet for 20% off the code is midday20

It was a good deal. I picked up the River Rapid and gold plated bald eagle.
Surprise there is no reply to this thread. Didn't anyone else get into the deal?

I put 5 coins in the cart but the shipping charges ate away 38% of the saving - $66 in savings but $25 in shipping). In the end, I decided to wait to see if CP (or anyone else) does a 20-25% with free shipping like they did last year.
Good discount but just crazy shipping. It was $7.99 plus $3.50 for each additional item...plus tax.

There was no tax in final "submit" page. Tax was calculated in the cart but once you put in your CC#, the tax goes away.
Even with the high shipping costs, I saved $47 over buying at the Mint because of the 7% PST I get charged for being in BC.
So this was a great deal for me.

Darn I missed out on the 20% discount. It would of been great to get it on the hologram wolf & empress of Ireland coins, even the eagles. I like the interest free payment plan. It makes it more affordable, especially if you pay off credit card balance monthly. The discounted coins are great for the collector !! It's not so great for the serious seller or occasional flipper. The thing to be careful with the coin show, non at issue coins tend to be over priced. So a person does have to be careful in knowing the prices of the coins they intend to buy.

I bought the Empress coin, the river rapids coin and the gold plated eagle today with the promo. I had these coins ordered at the mint but I cancelled them and saved a sweet $65 bucks.

Just realized that I had made my theshoppingchannel unknowingly via greatcanadian rebates, and I received a 3.5% cashback on the REGULAR price without the 20% off, so I ended up saving even more, completely forgot about this or would have gotten platinum coin as well.

Seems like the 20% deal is every 2 weeks so I think I'll hold off on RCM purchases from now on and and wait for the 20% deal. Why rush out and buy from RCM when you can get it discounted if your a little patient. Edited by sherwooddavid

I ordered more aswell, I ordered 4 to make my order over $300 and get the $100 coupon aswell for my next order. I was going to get 1 river rapids aswell but I was too late and it was out of stock. Although I already have these, if I were to buy another one with the $100 coupon I would have to pay the $10 and $8 shipping bringing my total to 5 coins for $75each which I plan on reselling as its sold out almost on mint.ca and I will sell it below issue with signed booklet. |

I made my first purchase at The Shopping Channel to buy the Empress of Ireland. I just received an email promo for 20% off my next 3 purchases until August 31. I'm wondering when they will put the June releases from RCM on their website. They also sent me a $100 gift certificate good until July 31. I might try to buy a couple coins. |

Wow, that's great to hear from a collector perspective. I'd check the site daily, if you want to be among the first to catch June release. The host mentioned they'd be adding coins weekly. I know he does a show on Canada weekend.

Thats what I have the 20% off promo just waiting for the june release and hope they have the haunted canada coin (I doubt it but still it would be great at 20% off) or atleast the D-Day coin. Also if anyones interested I am trying to sell the empress of ireland silver coin for $80, or trades
