Clearly a Harshly Cleaned and Damaged AU details 1861-s $20 Gold Liberty.

Now it has become A MS-62:

NNC is not a recognized reputable slabber; I'm surprised it didn't make a -63 or -64.

I agree that it has been cleaned but appears to be an old cleaning (not that that makes much of a difference).

If by "old cleaning", you mean 10 days ago, than I agree. centles gave this coin a very harsh chemical cleaning to remove the heavy staining on both the obverse and reverse. NNC is centsles and he purchased this coin and assigned the MS-62 grade that apparently fooled an ebay novice into throwing away a lot of money.

I just looked at this guys auctions going on.

Saw 2 auctions that had 50+ BIDS, each.

Hope those bidders don't have buyers remorse.

He has lots and lots of buyers, many repeating purchases. They're probably people who don't know what they're dealing with. But Centsles is a notorious crack-out/self-slab seller.

Centsles really knows how to manipulate the images to make the coins look nicer that they really are. I can see the wear that makes the coin AU, but I can hardly see any evidence from cleaning. The pictures of the original auction make its issues much more blatant.

"I can hardly see any evidence from cleaning"

Exactly. He is a COIN DOCTOR. I pity everyone that has purchased any coins from him. They will be very sad when they find out that they have been taken.
