Ok I found this dime very close to the release of the 2007 dimes,, I have been looking for others like it but as yet have found only this one . If its Mechanical in nature it is something I have not seen before and would appreciate your opinions on type and cause . The anomoly affects the E-PLU Thanks for your help ! Metalman

HI rick, hard to tell from the pics, but there appears to be some rotation and not just Machine Doubling. Jim

Im thinking since I have only found one and have not seen any other examples of this dime anywhere else (Here ,ebay or other) ,,That this is more than likely not a Doubled Die but something else .
If anyone else finds another like it Please let me know .
Im thinking about maybe submitting the coin to Ken potter for evaluation.

Hard to tell from the pics Metalman. Where are you seeing the doubling at? EPU? If so, looks to me like something is there. If the doubling looks strong enough, I definitely would send it to Ken Potter. Remember though, if it is true doubling, the mint will claim it cannot happen now based on the way coins are now made! That was the response to me 2 years ago when I discovered the DDO westward journey nickels! Have a great one all!

There is damage to the lower portion of the Olive Branch that would indicate to me that the lettering may have been damaged by the same thing that damaged the lower part of the branch. That being said, I am currently examining some 2006 D Dimes that do appear to have slight effects of die doubling on the reverse. I need to find a few more examples to be sure.
Could there be something on the 2007 D dimes... maybe:-)
Thanks, Bill

Me too, On some of the 2006 D dimes, I see what looks like notching on the upper left portions of the lettering. I am going to try to get some good shots of one.
We may have something here:-)
have Fun, Bill

This is just a quick pic, I will try to get a better one later but this is the reverse of a 2006 D Roosevelt. Bill

I would have to see one in person under a scope to tell anything for sure. Looks more like Die Deterioration Doubling to me, but that's just because of the less than perfect quality of the images. I'm sure I could come up with a plausible answer as to what this is under a scope.

Hi Chuck
Is there an address on your site where I could send one to you to examine.
