As always, thanks.

Hard to tell from the pics. You need better lighting and larger photos.

appears, from the pictures, to be MS.

I'm not seeing any wear now that I see the bigger pics.

MS-63 possibly?

no apparent luster
could be cleaned

I honestly have no feel for the surface with that lighting other than it looks like it lacks any luster which you would not expect based on the lack of wear.

Very hard to see, no luster showing and details are blurry at best. Probably in the High AU/Low MS range.

Thank you all for the comments. Sorry again for the sub-par photos. The majority of posters on this site make it look so easy...

One more attempt at trying to show detail / luster...

As always, thanks for taking the time to look and comment.

Thanks for all the comments.

I was wavering on a details grade but was not sure since I recently saw another example of this coin with essentially the same type of surface appearance in a problem free AU holder. I guess it was wishful thinking on my behalf that this coin would grade clean.

Anyways, thanks for the continuing education on what to be on the lookout for.

Buying raw gold is so tricky that you simply need to have enough exposure and experience in order to do it right. We've all tried and most have learned a hard lesson or two
