1972-D?
It's unquestionably a PO-1

PO-01, very nice lowball. I'm thinking 1972-D. Would do nicely at an auction in front of the right buyers if slabbed by PCGS. Very hard to find lowball Ike's.

The mint is most likely a (D) DATE, I have studied it under my best power "spy glass." results unknown. zxcccxz, would you make a guess on the value?

The date and mint *must* be plain for it to grade. Might not be the winner we think.

SsupperDdave............. Always good to have you weigh in. Quote: The date and mint *must* be plain for it to grade. Might not be the winner we think. I could *guess* the date and mint. But, Out of fear-concern-etc., that I will make a misstatement (fib-lie-etc) ... better for me to just let the TPGers do it for me, and let the chips fall where ever. I am old, tired, and wish to maintain a good reputation here on CCF.

That is a very interesting coin indeed .... While undoubtedly worn to a PO01 technical grade ... I am not convinced a TPG would certify it as such. The date and mm must be identifiable ... perhaps an Ike expert could distinguish between a 1972 and a 1973 in this condition ... but I am not able to do so. Best of wishes if you choose to send it in. David

NickelSearcher............. First Thank you for replying. Quote:That is a very interesting coin indeed .... While undoubtedly worn to a PO01 technical grade ... Best of wishes if you choose to send it in. David (If) the coin was sent in, they would have better *tools* than my ability to post it here, on CCF. ============================== Other question.... Hypothetically speaking, ... is there any lea way for (P) Ikes which have no MM? My humble guess is they just make a grade or just return it ungraded, and that is that. All responses welcomed

Might grade if you can convince them it's not a '73 or '78. Looks like a '72-D to me, and looks PO-1 for sure. I've had '72 plains come back because they couldn't identify if it was T1, T2 or T3.

Quote: I am old, tired, and wish to maintain a good reputation here on CCF. That can be tough to do some days! Your coin looks PO-01 but only a TPG can decide if it's an identifiable date/mm combo. If it is a 1973-D PO-01 then PCGS shows a big fat ZERO in their Pop Report for it.
