What I find strange is how random these emails are. Why don't they email to everyone on their list?

Merci, Mlalonde1977! So far I have not received this notification from the mint. However, it reads like more of their usual over blown marketing hype. Please let us know what it is, once you find out.

Haven't heard anything from my rep yet. A mint first eh? Maybe it will be a reasonably priced silver or gold NCLT coin. On a slightly more serious note, Prince Charles, PM Stephen Harper and their wives just arrived in Winnipeg. I'd bet the new coin is related somehow. They are slated to attend ceremonies tomorrow related to Aerospace, hand feeding a polar bear, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and Winnie the Bear. Since both Aerospace in Canada and Winnie the Bear have anniversaries in 2014, I'm guessing at least one of them will have a coin revealed tomorrow. I'd put a small wager on Winnie. Interestingly, the Governor General mentioned Winnie the bear and A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh in a speech welcoming the Royals to Halifax over the Victoria Day weekend.

It's only speculation here, but I find this on wiki : 1939 â€" The Canadian National War Memorial is unveiled by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in Ottawa.
With the royal visit of Prince Charles, maybe it's related with something like that... And it's 75 years since the 1939 as of may 21...

Since not all people got this mail, and it "Mint's first", so I do not think, that it standard commemorative edition of something, but probably expensive piece (let's say 2oz Au or 1oz Pt), or again - repackaging of existing coins to a new set.

It's a coin for the visit of the Prince Charles to Canada.

Then on Wednesday afternoon, The Fort Garry Horse army reserve will be giving Prince Charles six "Winnie the Bear" dolls clad in military uniforms at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory. Charles will also take in the Winnie the Pooh Gallery at the Pavilion Gallery Museum.
