This penny was in my fathers collection he gave me when he passed. Does anyone know what the stamp on it means?

to CCF. It is called counter stamp but that's all I know about it. Give it a bit and more members will help you.

Most likely, the only person who knows what it means is the person who stamped it.

It may be one of a kind. Someone in your family may have added the counter stamp. Is that date an birthday or anniversary for anyone in your family? If not, check the local history of the area where your father lived or his father, since it is likely 1888.
