So you order a tube of 20 new coins from one of the big suppliers, could be ASE, Australian kook's ect

Would you expect to find any MS69 or 70 coins in the tube? or would you think the supplier had already "cherry picked" all of those out of the tube?

What would be your "expectation"?

You could possibly get one of those grades out of a tube. I don't think the main suppliers are going through tubes looking for these grades. I think most likely the suppliers just submit monster boxes and they hope to get some MS69s out of the box and hopefully at MS70 now and then. I don't think the big suppliers have enough time to open each tube and examine each individual coin. I could be wrong but that's my guess.

Usually the rolls are still sealed straight from the mint, so yes I would expect 69s/70s

Well it seems they do cherry pick, guy on another forum is VERY upset about it, one of the biggest suppliers confirmed it to him on the phone(twice)

When you think about it, if your buying rolls from a supplier who also sells slabbed coins its going to happen.

Could be as okie suggested and they just submit the monster boxes to the TPI instead of doing it themselves.

You could possibly find a MS-68 or maybe even one 69 but no way would you find a 70. They supplier would have taken that out immediately. Ordering Monster boxes is different however, there is no cherry-picking going on there.

You can't visually see the difference between a 69 and 70

All the ASE rolls I've received have been taped shut as you would expect if it came straight from a monster box

Fusion555 - I know APMEX has ASE as exclusive for them only SF Mint 20-Coin MintDirect Premier Tube. The tubes are guaranteed unopened directly from the SF mint. You have to pay a premium. The difference works out to be about $1.50 more per coin so $30 per tube.
