Pretty funny........doesn't accept Paypal. Wouldn't want anyone involved that could hold his feet to the fire. Note to scammers, steer clear of paypal.....get cash payments if possible.

People lining up to throw their money away (and way more than $320) on that ebay one. A lot of gall to make the statement that there's no return "because of its excellent condition."

dave700x - so the ebay link you post doesn't look quite right - but is there a sure giveaway on this one - just curious. The Ebid one is an obvious fake ......agree there!

The most blatant detail is the mint mark location does not match any reverse die listed on VAMworld.

dave700x- looks like that particular CC looks like a real close match for the VAM2. The pictures on the auction aren't great though. I didn't realize there was that much variability in any particular year (especially one with such a low mintage) http://www.vamworld.com/1889-CC+VAM...687ec9a83735

Quote: looks like that particular CC looks like a real close match for the VAM2 Close but not close enough. Notice that the bottom of both mint mark digits is below the top plane of the D and O in the motto of the ebay counterfeit. Not the case with VAM-2. Someone just blew $910.00 on a piece of chinese junk. The really sad part is you can no longer e-mail another bidder to alert them and now you can not even alert CCW of an obvious counterfeit as they no longer exist. It's buyer beware more now than ever....

dave700x - great eye! Thanks for adding your expertise to this discussion.
Lets hope the unfortunate buyer gets an expert opinion on that ASAP. $910 is a lot of dough for a bogus coin!

Me too - wouldn't have touched that with that feedback/seller profile.

It appears to be a hi-jacked account. All the feedback ratings are from 2008.
