The only coin I wont have is the 1985 silver dollar so I'm gonna get a 1885 morgan. I don't want to spend more then thirty but seems I have to by a few bucks at least.

Hows this one? I like the color but I am aware it might be like that from a cleaning.. What do you think? Should I go for it?

And what about this?

Which should I grab? If its real, I like the toned first one better.

I went with #2, but I like the look of #1. I just think its probably cleaned since the areas around devices are darker. Good looking though if you ask me.

Wish I'd seen this. The 1885-O is the more likely of the two to have been cleaned - it's a certainty with this one, in fact. The surfaces are simply too "fresh" looking for this to be an original-surfaces coin. Further, the halos around the date/stars/lettering - even though no hairlining is visible - strongly indicate that the coin has been subjected to some sort of mechanical cleaning. Now, I'll freely admit that lighting plays an important part in this "look" - it may be overly bright and imparting the wrong appearance - but if you asked me straight-up, I'd tell you that one's been cleaned to a 100% certainty.

Its funny I woke up today wishing I went for the other coin. Thanks Dave. I think the first one has more character and I probably should have gone with it. No big deal though its not a major purchase.

Nor do I think you're out even the cost of a six-pack at the price.

The first one has better details too if you look at the hair above the ear and the breast feathers on the eagle.
