ldhair: Looks like a contemporary counterfeit like mine. How much does it weight? (The wavy lines in the shield and the uneven repunched letters are the give-away.

Idhair, that's definitely a counterfeit... Most likely contemporary, it's definitely very interesting!

Arael nice coin! It appears to be a solid EF40 maybe even 45. Does your new acquisition have a regular or a metal alignment? It seems a 180 degree rotated die (metal alignment) isn't all too uncommon on the '61. My 1861 looks much like yours does, same dark tone, and with only slightly crisper details, and it's rotated 180 degrees... I snagged it for $50 off of craigslist, that was a good day.. Lol

Here is the one that got me into 3CS. This one came back from PCGS as genuine, tooled! I cannot find it nor can several dealers identify where it tooling is. Any ideas? I still love it though and it has been freed from that insulting holder.
