VG-8, Obv. 2, and I think, a bit too costly.

probably a grade higher and a lot cheaper (even before make-an-offer). depending on what you paid for shipping I would be tempted to use their refund policy (if available).

still a nice old cent, in fact I fall in love with almost every one that I see !

I think it is a 2 over 1 hybrid of some sort with hub doubling in Canada. VG-8 lists at $18. It's a nice pick-up just for the variety.

hmmm the vg8 I see in the catalog is $400

There should be some doubling in Regina as well.
What catalog do you find $400 for VG?
It will not be the same die or variety.

charlton 2013 book page 56 and yes there is doubling of regina as well. a marker to show this variety is common on all heavy punch doubling is that bump on the inside of the c in Victoria as seen in the charlton 2011 book page 314

I see what you are talking about.
On page 314 Charlton ,The ware on the coin may have some negative effect on "heavy punch doubling". Regina must also have the same effect as Canada. $300 would be the trend.
Could you take a close-up of Regina?

the 2013 charlton is up from $300 to $400 for this variety in VG-8
