Good Evening all.
I would first like to point out I am not a gold/silver collector, yet. I have however been doing a little research the past few weeks. I am planning to change 10% of my wealth the gold at this stage.I am looking at long term collecting 30+ years .I also apologies if I ramble I will try to get to the point as soon as I can.
For my first purchase I am planning to get a complete set under the 30k mark. As a sort of strong base ( and then follow on regular 1 oz gold coin purchases )
I am very interesting the 1899 - 1931
Perth Mint Sovereign Collection. The
Perth Mint sells the entire set ( by chance ) 33 gold sovereign, VF/UNC, with Certificate in a show box ( all the trimmings basically ) at a price of 28k AUD. I have been looking around and on some sites I have heard that the collection can be completed in under 20k ( taking months/years to find all the coins ). So my question.. Does anyone have any experience with these coins/collections? Is the price bought at the
Perth Mint for 28k set at an inflated price ( possibly ) due to the immediate complete set+ cert+ box etc. Basically, would the collection by the
Perth Mint be a good investment in 30+ years, or would it be just as good buying the coins individually over the years?
Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. As I said I am brand new to gold investing so feel free to talk to me as a child.
