I am in the middle of a coin deal and the dealer is offering 10% below bluesheet prices on ALL CERTIFIED COINS. Is this good or not good?

Not good if you are selling.

... To each his own, but I wouldn't do it, I just couldn't stand getting less than they're worth regardless to who buys it, though I understand the dealers point of view and needing to turn a profit, it's just not for me. But all considered, I suppose for selling to a dealer that isn't too bad.... But selling privately I wouldn't doubt seeing you get greysheet or above... That's the price of selling tow dealer opposed to doing the selling yourself.. Which I would do. Edit- wait.... Are you selling or buying? I was thinking you were selling... But now am thinking you meant buying... If that's the case check recent completed sales on eBay/harritage just to double check..

If you are buying make sure it is reputable TPGs like PCGS, NGC, and ANACS.

Considering that you're selling to a dealer this is a very good price. Dealers usually offer 50% of trends. They have to turn a profit you know... still I would never sell my coins at such a discount. I'd rather take my chances on ebay or consign my coins (Usually a 20%-30% fee).

Blue sheet... No, I wouldn't sell my coins at 10% below, let alone Blue Sheet price at all.

Helping my aunt sell a big collection. Went through a portion of boxes tonight and buyer is coming back tomorrow afternoon- told him "I would sleep on the offer" because I wanted to check back here to read the replies. So I guess it's not a good deal if I'm selling but what is another option? there is no way I can individually sell a collection so large- it's not manageable and frankly I'm sick of coins but want my aunt too get a fair price. Someone please give me a reasonable option. She doesn't trust anyone to sell it for her, I can't do it but I can contact dealers who will give me names of their buyers- one of them being the one that it had a meeting with today. I feel like we are handing over a collection to a person that is getting us on the raw coins especially when I question specific coins and the answer always seems to be "it's been cleaned" or "that's a ms64 not a ms65" there is always a fall back answer from the buyer in which they know I can't dispute. I want to know if I'm being too distrusting because of my own lack of knowledge or if dealing with a buyer/dealer is a choice we'll have regrets later? Any suggestions? I hope I can get answer before they come back tomorrow.

Is there a hurry to sell them? If you are sick of coins, and in a hurry, you will leave $$ on the table. Is there a chance you could take a step back and take a breath.

I'm pretty sure we've told you this before... If you sell them to a dealer/buyer in a large lot your not going to get close to the true value of the coins and money will be left on the table, plain and simple.
But to maximize return (and to possible get equal or more) than your uncle originally paid is not a quick task and surly cannot be done rushed or in a single sale... It will take some time...
If it were mine... I'd spend sometime researching and put anything over value "X" for sale individually and sell the rest of the low value stuff in lots... But even then not to a dealer... Your aunt needs totals the time herself or trust you (someone) to do it or there's no avoiding taking a major hit.

I agree w/joe. All TPG were not created equal. Anyway, take your time, if you can.

Have you considered selling on Heritage, stacks Bowers, goldberg, or other auction houses? They may be able to help... if the collection is extensive. I think the addresses below are to their sites. http://www.stacksbowers.com/http://www.ha.com
