Great acquisitions and I think you got them at a good price too.

I have quite a few half dollars in my collection many of which are the Walking Liberty type.

halves are one of my favorite type coins (and Franklins the best series), nice start
check out classic commemm halves too

Those are some nice coins to start with! Franklin halves are certainly an inexpensive way to collect silver American half dollars. Good luck with your collection!

Just to mention a Century and a half or so

I have silver from Canada in the form of two 5 cent pieces (Fish scale: Ed and George)

a few 80% dimes and one 50% '68

Some Quarters and one 1958 B.C. Dollar, but no halves

I paid $9.50 US for a Seated Liberty Half that was "Drilled and Filled" but heck even with the drilled hole it's still a hole filler for me

$10.00 US for the rest of the half's I have unless they were from circulation in the '70's-'80's so yeah not sure about the exchange rate but I'd say that $12 CND is a good deal
