You didn't mention the VDB. I think that may affect how the TPG's would grade it.

Regardless of what their "market grading" would be, I see this coin as a strong MS67 RD. I couldn't find a single mark on the coin, but I'm not willing to go higher than that without seeing the coin in hand. I could see where it might be a 68. Are there any flaws on the coin that don't show up in the picture?

I was only thinking about flaws seen with the naked eye. If there are no flaws visible even under magnification, then I'm going out on a limb and calling it MS69. The color is awesome and I don't see any softly struck areas. If I'm overgrading, then so be it!

Hey Catman, awesome coin!Congratulations! Is this a newly graded "Tops in Pops"? I could find no PCGS or NGC MS69'S in any 1909 Lincoln, see below...Mike

Catman prefers ANACS, so you wouldn't have found it in those pop reports.

Well that makes sense! I was not sure if the coin was slabbed or not. On all the auction archives I could find for the last eight years, no MS69 1909 Lincoln's have crossed the auction tables on any major auction. Mike.....Must be worth mega-bucks!!!!! I saw one MS68, some 67'S and tons of 66's.......

Let's face it...we are 4 years from 2009 and the mint plans to issue 4 differant Lincoln reverses in 2009 depicting the 4 stages of Abe's life. Hopefully, that will bring new collectors to the hobby...a yes, newbies will ber clamouring for all Lincolns! (at least, that is my take)

1909 Lincolns will be going for a premium in 2009. Also, finding a 1909-P in this condition is actually worth more than the 1909-VDB. I am not talking about the 09-s or 09-s-VDB, just the 1909 versus the 1909 VDB.

For instance, this coin has a real good shot at MS67 which goes for $1200 in Coin Values. A 1909-P in MS67 goes for $2500.

Either way, it is a great looking specimen and I would slab it with either PCGS or NGC. Once it is in a PCGS slab at MS67, it is almost like hard cash if you want to sell it.
