Hi there.

First of all, I am not a coin collector.

Lately I was stocking some silver, which I will lock away until my baby daughter will be grown up. So I came across some old silver coins, also containing this 1915-S Barber quarter. Already found out it has a low mintage of 704000 pcs.

How would you grade it?

Also, what to do with it? Cleaning it or dont touch it and keep as it is? How would a collector handle it? I read about, to use hot salt water with some aluminum and then put the coin in for 30 minutes. Good idea?

Thank you.

Good-6 at the highest.
Why are you stacking? If if is to accumulate silver this coin adds spice.
Better than junk.
No cleaning at this level of preservation.

Thanks for your gradings so far.

Upper pics are created with a scanner. In real the coin looks really dirty with a brownish color.

Higher end VG. Looks like it may have been dipped in the past because it lacks luster. This is way above a G. Liberty can be seen although faint and not complete. I would not clean the coin.

NEVER NEVER NEVER!

This is the single most destructive garbage posted on the internet. Yes, it cleans...and it also RUINS any coin it's done on.
