Obviously, I wouldn't touch these putative rolls with a ten foot pole; however, I notice that it is bid up to 158$

Is the theory to bid up to the melt value of the QE on the end? What if it is a fake?

I was just curious.

Melt for a quarter eagle is 150$, I believe if it is a fake normally you can return it, but I don't know about ebay's policy on rolls. I find it very strange that a quarter eagle would be in a penny roll, seems like a ton of red flags to me.

Its very strange because all of these rolls that are on ebay considered "unsearched" are 100% completely SEARCHED.

The end coins are obviously placed there purposely and to lure people into buying them.

It has worked for years and will continue to work because the common human being isn't very smart and easily deceived.

I've bought several of these rolls when ebay still let you see what the seller bought in the feedback left for what he bought. I found a 1916 D Merc and 1908 S IHC that he bought and matched the sellers pictures with those in the "unsearched" rolls. Scored on both that way.
