Every time that I look through that website, I want Congress to vote for a total default on our 2 trillion in debt. That may teach the thieves to police their manufacturers over there. How they let them steal from us like that is a total slap in the face from Beijing to DC. They need to learn a lesson. I'd be afraid to buy a Rembrandt with a continent teeming with thieves like that. Maybe a default, and then a bomb on AliBaba's warehouse.

I guess it's lucky the U.S. government doesn't listen only to coin-collectors, then... imagine the foreign policy!

I'd heard of Alibaba for cheap manufactured junk, but after seeing this thread I went there and search for " Morgan dollar" Omg, you can buy a lot of 50 1893-S Morgan dollars for $110?!? That should be completely illegal - in fact I thought it *was* illegal to counterfeit US Money?!!?

In the US yes it is illegal, in China, No perfectly legal. And the company will soon be listed on the NYSE! You can buy their stock and become an owner in a company selling counterfeit goods to the US.

And ultimately loads of these coins end up circulating among collectors and cash-for-gold establishments as genuine to the tune of rage and tears afterwards.
The only plus side is that it gives me some extra things to put into my counterfeit collection. Gotta look on the bright side. :-)

Alibaba is actually more accurately described as an ebay for manufacturers or retailers, to sell less than full container load of products. There are a lot of legitimate products being sold and bought on the site. I agree that the Chinese government needs to change its thinking towards manufacturing and licensing infringement. However how many of us have a fake watch, or a knock-off Gucci bag? If your this mad about coins, then it should be towards those items as well. I get that people buy coins as perhaps investments so its not exactly the same but the principle is.

I hope no one buys purses as investments.

All I can think of is Ali Baba and the forty 'thieves.' A word to the wise is sufficient

I did two searches on there while I was looking at the fake coins. I typed in PCGS, and it said "Coming Soon". I typed in NGC, and it said, "Coming Soon". It made me feel sick to my stomach. Once they put them in the slabs, it will be a lot harder to magnet test. Someone on here said that for a larger fee You can have them made with coin silver. ebay is going to lose a lot, of customers, unless You happen to be a crook instead of a collector. There is a high grade 1893 S Morgan on ebay, and it has been graded by National Numismatic Certification.. I would think if I had a coin like that, PCGS is the only TPG that would ever touch it. The guy said that if You take it out of the holder to be graded by another house, it voids Your return privelige. Seems to me like someone could be stocking up on his Morgans in.......China perhaps?
