This looks pretty good, maybe too good. Has it been cleaned? From my amateur attempts of comparing to photogrades, I was guessing it's around F15. Any help appreciated!

I think VG-8 or 10. Looks cleaned.

Still a keeper!

So that's what an 8 or 10 looks like eh? :) Good to know, thanks!

I've always been lead to believe one should never clean coins because it destroys their value. How much has cleaning hurt this one if you think it's still a keeper? Bear in mind, of course, that they're all keepers to me, since I only own 4 of them!

And also, did I get burned? I paid $30 for it, on the assumption that even in good condition that year & mint seems to be worth a little more than others. I also didn't know how to tell if coins were cleaned, but after comparing this one to others I noticed it's missing that "cartwheel" shine effect, hence my suspicion.

Can't get hurt at $30.00. Local shops sell that for $50 to $70 based on mintages .

I can see F-15; it matches up with PCGS photograde. However, my gut instinct was VG-08, but my grading skills aren't that good in the lower end and Peace dollars are some of the hardest to grade peoperly.

$30 is a good price for this Semi-Key date. My original feeling was F-12 so I'll stick to that.

Well it sounds like I wasn't horribly off with my F15 guess, just a bit overly optimistic.

Sounds like VG10 is more realistic and seems to be the average estimate with guesses between 8 and 12. Thanks for the help!

VG 10 for me and cleaned. But that is normal for this grade. Great date.
