How's-This-1908-C'n'r-Peso?
I notice people are always posting their cap n' rays pesos/8R here to ask about authenticity. Now that I finally have one, I'll join in. How does it look?

It looks authentic and attractive to me. Too bad, the rim damage seems a bit harsh......

Nothing wrong with it except the aforementioned rim ding, and even with that I'd say it still ought to grade in the AU range. It also doesn't appear to have been cleaned or dipped as seems to so often be the cse with these.

The LIBERTAD on the cap does not look right. Usually there is a slant in the letters.

When as of 1898 the peso denomination superceded the previous 8 reales coinage, the cap and rays motif was modified somewhat. This coin's style in that regard is correct.
