This coin has some interesting rainbow toning on it, but also has some very unattractive corrosion on it, would you guys recommend an acetone bath for it? And if so how would I go about giving it one? Thanks for the help!

Why would you give it an acetone bath? If the corrosion is already done there's no use for an acetone bath. However, if it still has PVC, best to just soak it in acetone, don't do anything else as that might damage the coin.

I guess I was under the impression that acetone can remove corrosion, the corrosion doesn't look quite like PVC damage to me so I assume it's something else.

Acetone can't remove the corrosion damage- pitting and loss of metal.

Well thanks for the information guys! Good to know, I guess the ugly dark corrosion will have to stay. Oh well.

Verdi-Care might help this coin, it sure wouldn't hurt it. I dip or soak most of the coins I get in an acetone bath just to remove any surface contaminates that may be on the surface, such as finger oils and PVC residue. Most of the coins I get are 2¢ pieces. Don't think that this one will ever look better, but the verdi-care may reduce some of the gunk surrounding the corrosion and possibly preserve what is left of the coin.
