coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/10/2014 10:43 am The probably realized that the size would be too small for a ring because of the size of the inside area. That is why they use halves in silver to make rings out of. Quarters are pushing it. A broad struck coin is struck without the collar.
